Essence is the premiere lifestyle, fashion and beauty source for African-American women. Essence occupies a special place in the hearts of millions of Black women — its not just a magazine but her most trusted confidante, a brand that has revolutionized the magazine industry and has become a cultural institution in the African-American community.
Project Goal
To design marketing materials that support the Essence brand varying from in-book ads, advertorials, sell sheets, Essence event support, email blasts, marketing presentations and promotional items.
Solution
To show African-American women in a positive light through great photography and bold designs that empower women, along with showcasing the vast diaspora of Black women.
